Dayyem Program

The Dayyem Program is thoughtfully designed to provide students with a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experiences in renewable energy. Throughout the program, participants will be encouraged to think about the subject from both a macro-level, considering global implications, and a micro-level, focusing on individual actions and local solutions.

The program brings together diverse perspectives and experiences on renewable energy, aiming to spark curiosity and promote critical thinking. Students will be challenged to engage deeply with the content, question assumptions, and explore innovative ways to apply what they learn.

Day 1

Focus Overview, Climate Change, and the Science of Renewables

Objective To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of global energy trends, the science behind renewables, and the environmental impact of various energy sources.

Day 2

Focus Building Efficiency, Implementation Challenges, and Global Energy Solutions

Location Kuwait Research Institute Headquarter, Shuwaikh
Objective To explore the role of building efficiency in sustainable development, address the challenges in implementing renewable energy solutions, and examine global energy trends and solutions for addressing energy poverty.

Focus Integration, Transportation, and Storage

Objective To understand the integration of renewable energy into grid, transportation of energy, and storage solutions.

Focus Community-Led Initiatives, Future of Energy, Engagement, and Solutions

Objective To engage students in discussions about individual and community-led renewable energy and sustainability initiatives and explore future solutions.

Objective To provide students with an opportunity to present their renewable energy project proposals and receive feedback from experts.

Argan Business Park

Argan Business Park is one of the pioneering buildings in Kuwait to achieve LEED Platinum Certification(Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) for its innovative design and sustainable construction practices. The building boasts a wide range of sustainability features, including the integration of solar panels on its roof to significantly enhance energy efficiency. These features contribute to reducing the building's environmental footprint while setting a benchmark for future sustainable developments in Kuwait.

Sheqaya Renewable Park

The Shagaya Renewable Energy Park was created by Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) as part of Kuwait's ambitious plan to generate 15% of its energy by using renewable sources by 2030. Phase 1 of the plan was developed by KISR and consists of a 50 MW CSP plant, 10 MW PV, and 10 MW Wind.
